Launch of enhanced ChildCareBC services

In July 2026, the Child Care Operating Funding program will launch significant updates to the My ChildCareBC Services system for providers participating in the program. This update is part of ongoing work to strengthen and modernize child care systems, making it easier for operators to access and manage funding through a single, streamlined online platform.

The updated My ChildCareBC Services system will bring together Child Care Operating Funding, the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative, and the Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement (ECE-WE) into a single platform for funding agreement management and reporting. The platform will simplify how providers interact with the ministry by improving self‑service options and streamlining processes for reporting, funding agreement updates, and closure submissions, while also providing a central location to access, review, and update organization and facility information.

Deadline: Please note that July 20 is the last day to submit enrolment reports and monthly ECE-WE reports through the Child Care Web Application and the ECE-WE Reporting Tool to receive payment before August 1. To facilitate providers receiving payments on time, enrolment reports for August will open early (July 6).

Additional transition information will be shared directly with child care providers over the next weeks, including final report submission dates, step‑by‑step instructions, and short demonstration videos for child care providers.

The Child Care Operating Funding web page will be updated regularly with the latest information including a video discussing the key benefits and features. If you have questions or need support, call 1-888-338-6622 (option 2), Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

New funding for the Canada-wide early learning and child care system

On June 19, the Government of Canada announced new funding for the Canada-wide early learning and child care system. It will invest up to $5.4 billion over two years (2026-27 and 2027-28), in addition to the more than $58 billion in funding through early learning and child care agreements with provinces and territories since 2021.

Lisa Beare, British Columbia’s Minister of Education and Child Care noted that affordable child care is life changing for families and B.C. has been leading the way across Canada with investments that have saved families over $3 billion. The federal announcement supports the Province’s commitment to protecting the progress that has been made in fee reductions for families as we build a sustainable, affordable system for everyone. The Government of B.C. looks forward to continuing this work with our federal partners to protect and strengthen this system that is so important to families throughout the province.

Translations now available for The Future of Child Care in B.C. survey

Translations in French, Punjabi, Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese (Traditional) are now available for The Future of Child Care in B.C. online survey open until 4 pm on July 9.

Since the launch of ChildCareBC in 2018, families have seen substantially lower fees, more spaces, and a bigger early learning and child care workforce. The Province is continuing to build on this progress and is seeking input to guide the future of child care in B.C. through a new online survey for families, early childhood educators and child care operators.

This survey is voluntary and is separate from the ongoing mandatory Provider Profile Survey. Please feel free to share the survey poster with your networks.
